Gloria's Surgery Updates

Hello everyone,
Sorry, it's been a while since the last Gloria update but here's the latest...
Gloria is still staying with her daughter Sharon. Although she's had tough days here and there, she's recuperating very well and really appreciates the care that Sharon and grandkids Sean and Kristen are giving her. I've talked to Gloria on the phone every other day or so and she's cheerful and in good spirits most of the time. With Arline's help, she's been able to visit her house and the cats almost every day.
On Wednesday, Gloria had her first follow up appointment with her surgeon. The doctor is very positive with her condition post surgery. Of course, Gloria wanted to know when she can start teaching again and got a "We'll see..." from the doctor.

Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a great holiday weekend. Here's the latest on Gloria...
I talked to Gloria this morning and was pleasantly surprised by how chipper she sounded. Coming home from the hospital has definitely put her in a good mood.
As I mentioned in a previous update Gloria's staying with her daughter Sharon for now, while she recuperates from her surgery. Gloria did tell me that she had been able to drop by her own place to check up on her three kitties. I could tell in Gloria's voice what a wonderful reunion that was for her and the cats.
She was also so thrilled to get the group greeting card! She really appreciated all the well wishes from everybody. Thank you all for signing it.
That's all for now. At the rate she's improving, I'm guessing Gloria will be sending out these updates herself soon...

Hello everyone,
I just talked to Gloria this morning and the hospital has finally cleared her to go home. She's quite thrilled and wishes everyone a Happy Independence Day!
Gloria will be staying with her daughter Sharon for some time while recuperating.

Hello everyone,
I was able to visit Gloria at the hospital yesterday afternoon. Just as I got there, she was in the midst of her second physical therapy session on the day. With help, Gloria was able to sit up, stand up and do a couple of steps to the left. Still a long way from the hokey-pokey but a start!
She's still in a lot of pain; according to her, much more than the first surgery. But, she seemed in good spirits and we chatted for about an hour.

Mon, Jun 28, 2010 at 10:29 PMHello everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that Gloria's surgical procedure was done today as scheduled. The surgery was completed around 1pm and the doctors informed Gloria's daughter Sharon that the procedure went very well. I visited Gloria at the hospital around 5pm this afternoon. I was really expecting her to be completely out of it but she was awake and able to chat. She is in a lot of discomfort and they have her on pain medication.
